Your habits and your blessings

The past few days have been filled with celebrations and reflections, especially about what we believe in.

One thing that these seasons share in common is giving. The beauty of giving our time as workers to building companies and businesses that stand the test of time, the opportunity that the new month, week or day brings, the love that Ramadan shares, the hope that Easter inspires. It’s such a blessing.

I usually buy some products at a certain store. So this time, like every other time, I bought my usual and paid (two items, one was costlier than the other).

Then, the store owner said, “take your money back (for the costlier item). I’m offering this to you as a gift, just to say Happy Salah”.

Wow! I thanked him but thought within myself; why did he give me that? Why didn’t he offer me something else or less? It dawned on me that people favour you according to your taste. God also blesses you according to your habits, your perception and your desire.

What’s more? Sometimes we feel like ‘this thing is too expensive’ or ‘this experience is for a particular class of people’, especially when we can afford that product or service. We have to understand that the more we have those experiences or products, we’re communicating a message that says: I’m good for this, I like this, I’m qualified for this, I’m not embarrassed by this.

This is profound. I’m hoping that you can apply this thinking to the little things in your life.

Most of the time, the universe blesses you according to your taste, according to your habits.

PS: I don’t mean spending lavishly to prove a point to others, I mean spending reasonably to tell yourself that you deserve this experience and more.

Please give lots of clap if this helps.
